Dreams, Spirituality, Communications, Tribe

Who were you,

      Who are you,

            Who will you be?

  What are your dreams,

         What do you believe,

                 Who do you follow,

                        Who are you connected to?

Don’t lose yourself in the crowd or the commute or the company ethic. Life should be more than not being laid off. Getting the most done in a day doesn’t necessarily get you an A+. And you weren’t put here to become a martyr to your mother or your boss.

Who are you? What do you believe? What are your dreams? Why were you put here? Please find out. It is central to your health. Body and spirit go hand in hand. And Zoloft, Xanax, and Caffeine are not the answers.

Religion? I love religions, all of them, especially their prayers. And I’ve bounced around in more than a few.

I was raised by an Episcopal Church School when my mom was hospitalized with polio. I sang in the choir daily instead of staying home with the ever changing babysitters.

In college and medical school I practiced Zen Buddhism and lived in Zen Centers. I also taught Zen in Europe.

Then I worked with Jewish children and took them to Temple each Friday. Along the way, Sufi Dancing kept me smiling.

They are all beautiful traditions..

THAT you believe in something which gives order and meaning to your life is important.  WHAT you believe is personal. The community and connections you establish along the way are priceless.

We were meant to dream, explore your own spirituality, then embrace it, share with others, and live within a tribe of friends and family.

So, who are you?

        Find your true self,

              make your connections

                            and find your tribe.
